My GOD I have an urge to write a fic about servants of house Dellamorte discussing what they need to put on the morning tray taken up to Lucanis and Rook’s room. Do they need to bring hot chocolate for Rook? Is it too early for that? Or do they like tea? Lucanis is easy he just likes coffee, he always has but ROOK is NEW and DIFFERENT what do they DO??? NONE OF THEM THOUGHT LUCANIS OF ALL THE DELLAMORTES WOULD BRING BACK A PARTNER???

Alrighty buckle up fuckers cause imma start off with omegaverse and if you don't like that than you've been warned

Now different dimensions Danny phantom and DC, the DC universe being the omegaverse while Danny Phantom isn't, Danny gets Launched into this omegaverse DC universe while he was fighting Skulker accidentally and not being able to make portals yet is stuck for the foreseeable future, what he doesn't know is that this universe gave him a designation (pick ur choice between Alpha or Omega for drama) but he really smells like one of those two and everybody else can smell him too

While stuck in this universe nothing about him has changed besides his smell he doesn't act differently because of the designation and it's really throwing off the people that's around him and that smell him, Danny can feel emotions cause of ghosts and he can't really tone down his smell and he has no idea what a scent patch is what so ever, so he's just wandering around trying to find a natural portal or even if this universe can make a portal for him to get back to his universe, all while he's being simped over by whoever is nearby

Of course depending on which designation he got he'll probably be forced into some type of collar(of course this also depends on how you see the omegaverse cause I've seen some really restrictive ones and more lax ones)

So I met Jessica Madsen (Bridgerton's Cressida Cowper) on the weekend and she is now one of my favourite people 🥹

Got her autograph, sat in on her panel, and thanks to encouragement from a new friend I also went along to a special lil event and got to chat with Jess over dinner for 2 hours 🫠 It was her, Sam Phillips (who plays Lord Debling and is also a joy of a human) me and 7 other lovely folk.

They were both really relaxed and chatted openly about the show - both love the change to Michaela and that there will be more queer rep. They asked which order of Bridgerton siblings we thought the show would be going with and seemed really amused at our guesses (I dont know if they even know what the order is themselves, they were playing very coy about it 😅).

A highlight of the night tho was early on I mentioned that I had to drive 2 hours to get home afterwards, and didn't think she even heard me. But then when she was leaving she touched my shoulder and told me "drive safe!" And I just 🫠 - so sweet she remembered 😭

Anyway, I am now forever a Cressida defender, my girl can do no wrong and deserves the world

Something I really love about the Silt Verses is how, in a world of gods and monsters, how grounded Faulkner's trauma [and relationship with his father] is. Especially as the season moves on, and the stakes amp up [and up] its so unexpectedly piercing to be presented with this exploration of childhood abandonment/negligence, inter-generational trauma, the indignities and stress that comes with unexpected elder care/early onset Alzheimer's. You're so locked in to these grander, more abstract concepts that your defenses are down! Mine were, anyway. TSV is so good at cutting its grand, complex plotlines with simpler [but not shallower] gutpunches, and it just grounds the whole thing.

it fascinates me how often a choice of first or - gasp - second person storytelling can create so much derision and discourse. having preferences is fine obviously, and as a writing choice it Does matter, because all writing choices matter. i don't really... notice?? anymore??? or like, i DO notice, but more in a "what information will the narrative give me access to" kind of way.

i know second person especially can be jarring if you're not used to it, because it's "he would not fucking say that" but for yourself. but it's also like... so many song lyrics have "you" and "i" and to me they're just. a story that exists separate from me. (to the degree lyrics exist to me at all as something other than Sounds that are part of a music piece, but that's the audio processing disorder/'did not grow up with english as a first language and never bothered to decode lyrics' of it all speaking)

i suspect a lot of derision towards first person narratives comes from a derision towards the genres in which it is a staple, rather than that it's somehow uniquely bad. there's really not much difference between a first person perspective and limited third person perspective??

I really do love your writing and Salvage gets me through when I am sad or depressed. However, I was wondering, how do you cope when someone who wrote a review didn’t like your writing? If you’ve had this before… I had one today and I am dejected. I’m working through my perfectionism and I keep telling myself, “my writing isn’t for everyone and it’s okay.” Any advice?

If it was unsolicited, especially on a fanfic? Delete it, block the person if you feel like, then go do your rage activity of choice before forgetting about it forever. That person is rude and doesn't deserve your time anymore than someone bumping into you on the street.

I've also found it useful to actively think of my fanfic as writing practice, and not even my brain expects perfection from writing practice. It also frees you do Try Cool Things.

Now take this digital blanket and cup of hot chocolate and go reread your nice comments.
